FLYTE's main focus this 2008-2009 school year is
to send our high school-aged youth to the 2009
Youth Gathering in New Orleans, LA!

• We will be holding a (post) Mardi Gras dinner on Sunday, March 1, right after the second service.
  We will be serving cajun and creole food.
  Ticket prices and a full menu will be available soon.
• We will be holding an appraisal fair Saturday, May 16th. Prices and times will be announced at a later date.
• FLYTE's service in New Orleans:
  FLYTE will be focusing on Health and Wellness at the Gathering this year.
  A description of our chosen service area: Health & Wellness: It’s been said that “health is everything!”
  People interested in Health & Wellness care about physical activity, emotional stability, and spiritual growth for everyone.
  You will discover in this Interest Area the current issues surrounding health and wellness in New Orleans and better understand the determination of Jesus to heal the sick, drive out demons,
  comfort those who are troubled, and to leave no one forgotten or uncared for.

  Health & Wellness projects will include physical work such as painting, cleaning and organizing health care centers,
  playground and park restoration, supporting sports camps, learning about trauma recovery,
  talking with doctors and health care providers, listening to Katrina stories, and much more.
  Finally, you will be sent back to your own community to promote and support its health and wellness.
